NAfW Great Repeal Bill Consultation.docx – May-2017

The WLGA submitted a response to the National Assembly for Wales’ consultation on the Great Repeal Bill and its implications for Wales, which contributed to the final report. The WLGA’s main line is that certain key principles must guide the process of repatriating laws back to the UK. These principles are listed in our response. We felt it was important to submit a response to this initial consultation to put an early marker down, and ensure that local government is fully involved in the legislative planning for Brexit (as the sphere of government that currently implements the majority of EU legislation).
